Our Commitment to Community
We have the honour to work with some of the most conscientious, resourceful and problem-solving minds doing incredible work behind closed doors, and in the public eye. As a firm, we are also dedicated to playing our part in the drive for social change. We embody the principle of radical love and a shared commitment to building thriving communities - we are each other’s community. Being part of this community means amplifying the voices of others doing great work, it’s holding ourselves accountable to action, and it’s recognizing our privilege and position as a for-profit firm working across the third sector. Basically, it’s putting our time, energy and money where our mouth is!
In 2024, our Commitment to Community has shown up as direct services support, event sponsorship and direct donation.

SPONSORSHIP
We were a proud Sapphire sponsor the National Black LGBTQI+ Futures Summit, the largest convening Black 2SLGBTQQIA + leaders and movement makers across Turtle Island (colonially known as Canada). The Enchanté Network is an organization connecting and supporting 2Spirit and LGBTQ+ communities across Canada.

SUPPORT
Beyond the contributions of our firm’s resources to directly support nonprofit service delivery organizations, we also look to extend our support to initiatives and spaces integral for positive change in our wider community.
Recognizing the importance of art and creative opportunities, we have bought a brick for Black Artist Network Dialogue (BAND) Gallery and Cultural Centre. This space is for emerging Black artists and cultural workers. They provide hands-on experience, presentation opportunities with an accessible venue to showcase their work to the general public. [We firmly believe the words of Fannie Lou Harmer that “nobody’s free until everybody’s free”. ]

DONATIONS
As we strive for collective liberation we understand that includes solidarity with movements supporting the global majority, beyond Turtle Island.
We have donated to Inter Pares, an organization which believes in just that, solidarity, not charity as an approach to international cooperation. They work with courageous activists and more than a hundred inspiring organizations advancing justice and globalizing equity. Whether we look locally, nationally or internationally we are rooted in a deep and demonstrable commitment to intersectional anti-racism and anti-oppression praxis. And we will continue to do that in every way we can.
